What I Love about Sundays

Cooking away!

(Due to wordpress.com malfunctions, this post was not posted last weekend like it was supposed to.)

Now that we winter cattle at our place, John is quite busy every day with chores.  The cattle need to eat every day…who knew?!  Our Sundays normally look something like this:

1.  Wake up around 7AM

2.  John gets ready for the day while I make breakfast.  Today I made oatmeal with fresh strawberries.

3.  John leaves for the ranch

4.  I watch part of CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood (because I know that my mom and dad are watching it at home)

5.  Get dressed, grab my coffee, and head out for church around 9AM

Sunday mornings at Norway Lutheran Church are one of my favorite parts of the entire week.  I love the no-frills, good, old-fashioned Lutheran church service, as well as the fellowship.  Because John has chores, he doesn’t get to go to church with me, but he listens to a couple of services on the radio.  It is fun to discuss the sermons over lunch.

After church I usually try to make something good for lunch.  Today I put chili fixin’s in the CrockPot before church, and decided to tackle homemade buttermilk biscuits when I got home.  Thanks to The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) I was able to mix up a tasty batch of buttermilk biscuits from scratch for the first time!

I hope everyone has great Sundays like I do!
