Love. It’s what makes a Subaru a Subaru.

Is there anything better than a Subaru commercial?  The grandma and little boy holding hands…the old Subaru in the driveway after the class reunion…the one with the puppy…The folks in that marketing department know what’s going on.  About a month ago John and I purchased a Subaru Outback.  Yes, the all-wheel drive will be nice in the winter.  Oh sure, the gas mileage isn’t too shabby.  But what really sealed the deal were those dang commercials.

Yesterday on the way home from church, we (John in his cowboy boots and me in my Birkenstocks) discussed the new car.  It was decided that I really won’t even need to worry about hitting a deer on my commute to work.  Is it even possible for a Subaru to harm a creature?   That seems sacrilege.  I am ignoring the fact that I murdered a poor gopher the other day on my way to work.  Now, let’s keep our fingers crossed that I don’t ever hit a deer.

The Subaru may not be quite what the Impala was (cozy, worn in, comfortable, 30+ mpg), but I think I will be keeping it around for awhile.  The cup holders are perfect for my morning cup of coffee, and NPR is on the presets.

Out for Now,
The Displaced City Girl
