Challenge Time! Find Your Groove

Fellow Mamas, Friends, and Displaced City Girls,

In January, I had the privilege of meeting Rebecca Undem while my husband and I were enjoying some sun on our Mexican vacation.  We traveled to Mexico with over 100 other seed corn representatives, and Rebecca and her husband were part of that group.  Right away I noticed her: I wasn’t the only tall girl on the trip!

After getting my butt kicked by her in a resort karaoke contest, I knew I had to get to know this tall, crooning beauty from North Dakota. So, the next day I sidled up to her at the pool, and we hit it off immediately.  I found out that she is the author of a memoir titled How Mommy Got Her Groove Back. Her story intrigued me, because our stories are similar in so many ways.  She wanted to be a city gal.  I wanted to be a city gal.  She is a college graduate (NDSU…boo!).  I am a college graduate (SDSU! Go Jacks!). Her husband is super sweet.  My husband is super sweet.  She is a mom.  I am a mom.  Get the picture?

After reading her memoir, I knew I needed to share it with my dear readers.  So many of us are looking for our own groove and trying to figure out how to bloom where we are planted.  After reading Rebecca’s story, you will realize that you are not alone, you are not as crazy as you think, and you matter!
